Gloucester City appoint Nigel Hughes as new chairman
Long-standing executive committee member Nigel Hughes has stepped up to become Gloucester City's acting chairman until the end of the season.
He takes the job on at the Cirencester-based side after David Phillips, who had done the job since 2007-08, decided to stand down.
Hughes said in a statement: "It is business as usual.
"We will continue to work closely with club owner Eamonn McGurk as he strives to bring the club back to Gloucester."
He added: "The change of chairman will have no effect on those plans as we move forward."
City have been in exile since their Meadow Park home was flooded in July 2007 when the River Severn burst its banks and left the club's home under eight feet of water.
We have a very small band of people running the club, and they are experiencing an unrelenting pressure

The club ground-shared at Forest Green for a season, before moving to Cirencester and gaining promotion to the Blue Square North in 2009.
Outgoing chairman Phillips pointed to the pressures of the job, which is likely to lead to the club's board of directors being expanded at the end of the season.
"We need to move the club to a more professional footing," he said.
"Sadly at the moment we have a very small band of people running the club, and they are experiencing an unrelenting pressure in doing that at this level."
"The club now needs an expanded board of directors to bring in new talent to help those dedicated servants already at the club."
