FRANCE
Ivory Coast and Lille's Gervinho is the second highest scorer in France
The Ivory Coast's Gervinho continued his fine form this season with Lille's second in a 3-0 win over visitors Le Mans. Cameroon's Aurelien Chedjou scored the opening goal for Lille.
It was Gervinho's ninth of the season and makes him the second highest scorer in the French top flight.
Tunisia's Chaouki Ben Saada scored the equalizer for Nice in their 1-1 draw at Grenoble.
Guinea's Ismael Bangoura scored the only goal of the game as his Rennes side beat Paris Saint Germain 1-0.
ENGLAND
Algeria's Nadir Belhadj opened the scoring for Portsmouth as they beat visitors Liverpool 2-0. Despite the victory Portsmouth remain bottom of the Premier League.
Ghana's John Mensah scored a rare goal for Sunderland but his side still lost a thrilling game at Manchester City 4-3.
ITALY
Cameroon striker Samuel Eto'o scored his eighth of the season for champions Inter Milan in their 1-0 win over Lazio. It keeps Inter eight points clear of their city rivals AC Milan at the top of Serie A.
SPAIN
No African goals in La Liga this weekend - but Mali's Seydou Keita and the Ivory Coast's Yaya Toure were both part of the Barcelona team that won the Club World Cup in Abu Dhabi yesterday.
The European champions needed extra time as they came from a goal down to beat their South American counterparts Estudiantes of Argentina 2-1.
SCOTLAND
In Scotland there was another Algerian on target as Ismael Bouzid scored the winner for Hearts as they beat 10-man Celtic 2-1.
HOLLAND
Just a handful of games in the Netherlands - the final ones before the winter break. And just one African goal-scorer as Ivory Coast's Sekou Cisse got the winner for Feyenoord in their 1-0 win over Willem II.
BELGIUM
Belgian-born Nigerian striker Marvin Ogunjimi scored both goals for Racing Genk in their 2-2 draw with visitors Zulte Waregem.
Senegal's Ibrahime Sidibe grabbed a last minute winner for Saint-Truiden as they beat hosts Roselare 2-1.
PORTUGAL
Cameroonian striker Christian Pouga scored in the 30th minute to put his side Leixoes ahead in their 2-2 draw with Olhanense.
