SPAIN

Kanoute came off the bench to snatch the winner for Sevilla

Frederic Kanoute struck within four minutes of coming off the bench to snatch a 3-2 comeback victory for Sevilla at home to Villarreal.

The Mali striker rose unmarked to head in a 66th-minute winner and maintain Sevilla's hold on third place in La Liga.

Elsewhere, Nigeria striker Kalu Uche scored in the last minute of the game for Almeria as they beat visitors Osasuna 2-0.

Guinea's Alhassanne Keita scored an injury time consolation for Real Mallorca in their 4-2 defeat at champions and league leaders Barcelona.


SCOTLAND

Nigeria under-20 star Sone Aluko got Aberdeen's first goal in their 2-1 win over visiting St Johnstone.


ENGLAND

Hull City beat Stoke City 2-1 to ease the pressure on manager Phil Brown, with Nigerian midfielder Seyi Olofinjana scoring Hull's first goal.

Stoke's Senegalese international Abdoulaye Faye was sent off.

The Ivory Coast defender Kolo Toure scored the equaliser for Manchester City in their thrilling 3-3 draw against visiting Burnley.


ITALY

Cameroon striker Samuel Eto'o got his sixth league goal of the season for Inter Milan as the reigning champions were held to a 1-1 at home to Roma.

Jose Mourinho's table-topping Inter are now five points clear of second-placed Juventus.


FRANCE

There was a huge African influence in the most thrilling game of the weekend in French Ligue 1 as Lyon and Marseille drew 5-5.

Senegal defender Souleymane Diawara equalised for visiting Marseille in the 12th minute to make it 1-1. The Ivory Coast striker Bakary Kone then put Marseille 3-2 ahead just after half-time.

Marseille then extended their lead to 4-2 with 10 minutes remaining before Lyon staged a remarkable comeback to make 5-4 in the final minute.

Asamoah Gyan scored for Rennes

Cameroon's Stephane Mbia scored two minutes in to injury time to rescue a point for Marseille.

Senegal defender Kader Mangane and his Ghana's Asamoah Gyan were both on target for Rennes. However, their goals were not enough as Rennes lost 3-2 at Toulouse.

And Togo's Razak Boukari scored with four minutes remaining for Lens who beat Sochaux 2-1.


GERMANY

Just one goal from an African in the Bundesliga, coming from the Ivory Coast's Didier Ya Konan who equalised for Hannover in the 26th minute in the 2-2 draw with Hamburg.


HOLLAND

Ghana's Matthew Amoah scored one of the goals as NAC Breda crushed Willem II 4-0.

The Ivory Coast's Sekou Cisse gave Feyenoord a fifth minute lead but his side ended up sharing the points in a 1-1 draw at champions AZ Alkmaar.

Jacob Mulenga pulled a goal back for Utrecht in the last minute but the Zambian's effort was too late as his side lost 3-2 to Heerenveen.


BELGIUM

Nigeria striker Tosun Dosunmu equalised for Beerschot in the second-half as they came from a goal down to beat St Truiden 4-1. Cameroonian striker Herve Onana had put St Truiden ahead in the first-half but his side fell apart after two red cards.


PORTUGAL

Christian Pouga from Cameroon was on target for Leixoes in the very first minute of play, however his side went on to receive two red cards and lost 4-2 to Nacional.


GREECE

Nigeria's Benjamin Onwuachi was among three players sent-off for Kavala, who still managed to draw 0-0 at Aris Saloniki. Onwuachi was the last to be sent-off in the final minute of play a minute after his side's second red card.


TURKEY

Cameroonian Herve Tum accounted for the only goal of the game in the 4th minute as his side Istanbul Buyuksehir edged out 10-man Antalyaspor.

Gabonese defender Roguy Meye rescued Ankaragucu with a last minute equaliser in the 2-2 draw with Kasimpasa.
