Chelsea's second loss of the season means they drop to second place in the Premier League behind Manchester United.
Ghanaian Kevin-Prince Boateng was also on the losing side despite scoring for Portsmouth as they lost 2-1 at home to Tottenham Hotspur.

Burundi striker Mohamed Tchite pulled a goal back for Racing Santander who fought from two goals down to earn a point in a 2-2 draw with Real Zaragoza.
FRANCE
Senegalese striker Souleymane Camara scored what turned out to be the winner for Montpellier who beat 10-man Saint Etienne 2-1.
Tunisia's Fahid Ben Khalfallah and Mali's Mamadou Samassa struck the goals that gave Valenciennes a 2-0 triumph over Grenoble.
Ivory Coast defender Emerse Fae was sent off in the final minute of a game that saw his Nice side outclassed 4-1 by Lorient. Mali midfielder Sigamary Diarra scored one of the goals for Lorient in the 77th minute.
Congo's Albin Ebondo grabbed the only goal of the game for Toulouse as they beat Paris St Germain 1-0.
HOLLAND
Ajax Amsterdam's Eyong Enoh missed a first-half penalty, but the midfielder from Cameroon but made amends by going on to score the opener in his side's 4-0 win over Willem II.
Morocco striker Mounir El Hamdaoui equalised for champions AZ Alkmaar but they gave up a 2-1 lead and were beaten 3-2 by FC Twente.
Ivory Coast striker Sekou Cisse was the first of two sendings-off for Feyenoord as they lost 2-1 to Sparta in the Rotterdam derby.
SCOTLAND
Morocco's Abdessalem Benjelloun converted a penalty for Hibernian with six minutes remaining to give his side a 1-0 win over Kilmarnock.
BELGIUM
Nigerian Jaycee Okunwanne scored the winning goal for Mouscron who came from behind to beat St Truiden 2-1.
GREECE
Morocco striker Jaouad Zairi continued his fine form for his new side Olympiakos as he scored the last goal in their 3-0 win over his former club Asteras Tripolis.
Nigerian Benjamin Onwuachi scored twice in the first-half for Kavala against visiting Panathanaikos, who fought back in the second half to earn a 2-2 draw.
TURKEY
Egyptian midfielder Ayman Abdelaziz was sent off in the 51st minute as his side Diyarbakirspor lost 4-1 at Antalyaspor.
