Wavell Hinds
Wavell Hinds
Born: 7/9/76
Team: Jamaica
Test debut: v Zimbabwe at Port-of-Spain, 1999/00

Right-handed batsman
Right-arm medium bowler

With only three centuries in 51 Test innings leading up to this series against Australia, Hinds knows now is the time to kick on.

He has had poor series against decent bowling attacks in the past, notably failing in England when Darren Gough and Andy Caddick were in the pomp.

Hinds, a talented left-hander who combines patience and aggression well, can no longer use the excuse of youth to defend his occasional lapses in concentration.

At the World Cup, he performed well below par with the bat, and retained his place largely through some useful medium-paced bowling.

Has always done well for Jamaica in domestic competitions, and is one of the sharpest fielders in the West Indian line-up.
