Danny Crates - the future

Danny Crates, wife Victoria and son Henry

I can't wait for the 2012 Paralympics to come around and I think it will be an amazing spectacle.

However, I think I will still have the lump in my throat that all recently-retired athletes have when it gets to a big games.

By then my son Henry will be four and I can sit there with him and enjoy it and tell him that his daddy was once good enough to be out there.

I've got a new pair of rugby boots which are ready to go and I think the London Marathon is something I will look to do in the future.

I've also promised my wife Victoria that we will have a proper summer holiday this year rather than doing something like going camping in September or October when the athletics season is finished.
