I've known for a long time that I wanted my last-ever race to be at Crystal Palace. I've always prided myself that I train and compete against mainstream able-bodied athletes and to finish at one of their events would be huge for me and would show that Paralympic athletes are accepted at those events and can make it their final farewell. My fear after the World Cup was that I wouldn't be ready for Crystal Palace and not have that final farewell in front of the home crowd. But I've trained and gone through rehab and am looking forward to it. Now it is time to look to the future. I'd like to think I can have an input into moving the Paralympic team forward and it will be nice to do some of the things I've had to turn down in the past because of my athletics.
