Discovery Channel wins suddenly came along like buses. First George Hincapie took the plaudits, then Paolo Savoldelli did the honours on stage 17.

Your Tour experiences and comments
When I used to live in the city of Pau in the south of France about eight years ago, we would watch the Tour ride through the twisty city streets. There was always a great party-like atmosphere, flags and lots of different colours as the bikes would wizz past. I was always amazed as a little boy at the sheer speed the cyclists could achieve.
