Your Tour experiences and comments
La Chataigneraie has never before welcomed the Tour de France, while Tours - the finishing town for this stage - has hosted it a number of times, most recently in 2000. I've never seen it pass through the town before but, if you can spare the time, the nearby Chateau de Villandry is well worth a visit. One of a plethora of chateaux in the region, it makes for a nice change from the hustle and bustle.

Just come back from a week in the Loire valley on the Tour route. This area is very flat and many of the roads are long and straight The race is passing along the Loire valley road so will pass Villandry amd I believe other chateaux all of which are fascinating though the garden at Villandry would put Monty Don to shame.
