WI in England 2009: Familar foes

West Indies captain Chris Gayle and England skipper Andrew Strauss

As in 2004, West Indies have arrived in England soon after the sides met in the Caribbean - and they will tour again in 2010.

When original opponents Zimbabwe's tour was cancelled, Sri Lanka were the first replacements - but withdrew as many of their players were contracted to play in the Indian Premier League.

Instead, Chris Gayle's Windies will play two Tests and three one-day internationals.

After the spoils were shared in the Caribbean earlier in the year - West Indies won the Test series 1-0, while England triumphed 3-2 in the ODIs - another closely-fought series is in prospect.
