England and West Indies both had captains new to the role in 2000 in Nasser Hussain and Jimmy Adams. But while the hosts brought in younger players like Andrew Flintoff, Matthew Hoggard, Marcus Trescothick and Michael Vaughan, the tourists were a side in transition, heavily reliant on Brian Lara. The summer was also a last hurrah in England for pace legends Curtly Ambrose and Courtney Walsh. It may have looked like business as usual as the Windies won the first Test by an innings - but the tourists were skittled for 54 at Lord's, Andy Caddick took 5-16 and England sneaked home within three days. The third Test was drawn, but England won the fourth by an innings as Caddick (5-14) and Darren Gough (4-30) bowled the tourists out for 61. And the Wisden Trophy was finally back in English hands after a thumping 158-run win at The Oval secured a 3-1 series win. England v West Indies 2000: Full series review from BBC Sport
