Rochdale dropped to second place in the National League after they were unable to take advantage of 10-man Yeovil in a 1-1 draw.
Aidan Barlow opened the scoring for Dale after finding himself one-on-one with Yeovil keeper Jed Ward in the 13th minute at Huish Park.
The hosts issued a near-immediate reply when Finn Cousin-Dawson nodded in Brett McGavin's free-kick two minutes later.
Rochdale could have remained ahead of York at the top of the table with a victory but they failed to capitalise when Aaron Jarvis was sent off in the 69th minute and were left to settle for a point.
