Match Facts
PSV have only won one of their previous eight meetings with Bayern Munich (D1 L6), with that lone victory coming in a home match back in October 1999 (2-1); goals from Ruud van Nistelrooy and Luc Nilis.
PSV have lost more games against Bayern Munich (6) than versus any other opponent in their European competition history. Indeed, their loss percentage is also higher against Bayern (75% - 6/8) than any other opponent they’ve faced on 5+ occasions in the European Cup/UEFA Champions League.
Despite their strong record versus PSV, Bayern Munich have only won one of their seven away games against Dutch opponents in the UEFA Champions League (since 1992-93 – D3 L3) and failed to keep a clean sheet in all seven trips. They lost 3-0 away at Feyenoord in the competition just over a year ago (22nd January 2025).
PSV have lost their last two UEFA Champions League games, last losing three in a row back in November 2016. They are, however, unbeaten in their final group stage game in each of their last five appearances in the competition (W2 D3), beating Liverpool 3-2 last term.
Bayern Munich have already qualified for the round of 16, and are the joint-highest scorers in the UEFA Champions League this term with 20 goals.
Bayern Munich’s 2-0 win over Union Saint-Gilloise last time out was their 115th clean sheet in the UEFA Champions League, the outright most of any team in the competition (Barcelona and Real Madrid with 114).
PSV’s Couhaib Driouech has three goals and two assists in just 184 minutes in the UEFA Champions League this season. His average of a goal involvement every 37 minutes is the best of any player to play at least 90 minutes this term.
PSV midfielder Joey Veerman has made more line-breaking passes leading to goals (5) than any other player in the UEFA Champions League this season, while he’s one of only three players with 100+ line-breaking passes in this edition (104), along with Aleix García (117) and Vitinha (114).
Since joining Bayern Munich in 2023, no player has scored more UEFA Champions League goals than Harry Kane (26). Indeed, his 26 strikes has already made him the German club’s third highest goalscorer in the competition behind Robert Lewandowski (69) and Thomas Müller (57).
17-year-old Lennart Karl has played five times for Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League this season, the only German players to play more before turning 18 are Julian Draxler (6) and Youssoufa Moukoko (8).
