Match Facts

  • Pafos versus Slavia Prague will be the first ever European Cup/UEFA Champions League match played between teams from Cyprus and Czechia.

  • This will be the first time Pafos have faced an opponent from Czechia in European competition, while Slavia Prague have only faced a Cypriot side in one previous campaign, being eliminated by APOEL Nicosia in qualifying for the 2017-18 UEFA Champions League (lost 2-0 on aggregate over two legs).

  • Including qualifiers, only one of the last 12 matches between Cypriot and Czech sides in Europe has been won by the team from Cyprus (D3 L8). However, that defeat was suffered by Slavia Prague, who lost 2-0 against APOEL Nicosia in August 2017 (UEFA Champions League qualifier).

  • This will be Albert Celades’ first European home match in charge of Pafos – the Spaniard’s only four home matches as a manager in the competition came in charge of Valencia in 2019-20 (W1 D1 L2), in which those fixtures averaged 4.8 goals per game (9 for, 10 against).

  • Slavia Prague are winless in their last 14 games in European competition (D5 L9), and will be looking for their first victory since September 2024 against Ludogorets (2-0 in the UEFA Europa League).

  • Pafos have lost their last two UEFA Champions League games (v Juventus and Chelsea), after only losing one of their first five matches in the competition this term (W1 D3). They’ve also failed to score in their last two, after only having done so in two of the first five.

  • Slavia Prague have the lowest pass completion rate under high-intensity pressure in the UEFA Champions League this season (67.8%), while Pafos also rank 33rd out of the 36 sides in this edition (71.2%).

  • No team have used fewer players than Pafos (20) in the UEFA Champions League this season, despite them having the oldest starting XI average age (30 years and 25 days).

  • Mislav Orsic is the only Pafos player who has both scored (1) and assisted a goal (1) in the UEFA Champions League this season, while the Croatian has also created the most chances (14) for his side in 2025-26.

  • Lukás Provod has made more assists (2), created more chances (12) and played more passes/crosses into the box (38) than any other Slavia Prague player in the UEFA Champions League this term.
