Bird People of Brontitall
The Bird People of Brontitall live in the right ear of a fifteen-mile-high statue of Arthur Dent.
The statue was constructed by their ancestors. The bird people are decedents of a robot hating society who were inspired to reject their robots when they hear Arthur Dent criticising the Nutrimatic machine.
Just because the wretched things liked us, it didn't mean we had to like them back.The Wise Old Bird
Their leader is the Wise Old Bird. He does not like saying the word "shoe", as he and the bird people consider it unspeakable.
Arthur first meets a bird person whilst falling on it from a giant cup which is defying gravity because it is artistic. Zaphod Beeblebrox and Ford Prefect end up falling on the same bird.
