A special baby was waiting to be born. Snip! He was cut out of Margaret's tummy. 'Owwwwwwww, it hurts sssssstttoooppp ow!'
"I'm so glad to be back at home, " said Peter, "'now what shall we call our baby? "
"Finn?"
"Fred?"
"Harrison?"
"Fyon?"
"Yes," said Peter
"Yes!" said Margaret wildly as if she'd forgotten everything about his birth.
Fyon's childhood flew by for him, but it sometimes went painfully slowly for Margaret. He made towers out of food instead of eating it. His lunch piled up almost to the ceiling. Broccoli was used for trees. Pancakes were stacked in great big towers. If Fyon could build something, he did. When Fyon was 3, Margaret said, "Please take Fyon to nursery."
In nursery, he was obsessed with the Lego box. Nothing else mattered. He couldn't stop building. At pick up time, the other parents had to crawl through the lego structures. There was only one thing nursery said at Parents' Evening.
"Please take Fyon to a primary school."
Fyon's 5th Birthday was the best ever. Happy Birthday to you they sang.
He received his own tape measure and scissors. More Lego and even some Meccanno. Margaret wanted to keep Fyon out of her kitchen drawers.
Things at Primary School didn't go that well. Fyon spent play time piling up the classroom furniture until it reached the ceiling. He liked maths as long as he was building towers to count, or sorting bricks into groups. He liked art as long as he could draw buildings. Geography was fun if they were learning about global cities and their landmarks. As soon as Fyon was old enough, school said, ""Please take Fyon to big school."
At Big School things got worse as the furniture was bigger. It reached higher and higher. The only reason it didn't topple over was Fyon was such a good builder. The Headmistress was pulling out her hair. Fyon spent most of his days staring out of the window or drawing. He dreamed of becoming a Master Architect.
One day, a few yearrs into big school, a terrible thing happened.
Crash, thump, bang, wallop. His Primary School fell down. The school did not have any insurance and no one knew what to do. Then it seemed so obvious.
Call Fyon!!
"Fyon ,where are you? We need you to re build the school."
"Do you really trust me?
Of course they did, as all he had ever done in lessons was build, design and draw.
Fyon rebuilt the school using his own designs and with lots of help from all his friends and teachers. When the newspaper wrote about his incredible story, Fyon was granted the special award of Junior Master Architect and was invited to go to Architects' School as long as he paid attention in class!!
Peter and Margert were very proud and it made all the times he had taken their kitchen objects for building worthwhile.
