The 14 funniest things that have happened at Radio 1 in 2017 (so far)

Radio 1 tries to achieve a lot of things (getting you up in the morning, entertaining you on the way home from work, bringing you the best new music) but we'd also quite like to make you laugh.

Fortunately, we've had some A-list help with that in 2017. Here are 15 of the funniest moments from Radio 1 this year and the big name stars who made it all happen.

Scott Mills' 'perve pad' reveals the very worst (or best) of what fans says to popstars on Twitter. Liam Payne was the first to scroll through the sexy messages and even the slick One Direction star was shocked by some of the things that were said.

In case you didn't know, Greg James is Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson's biggest fan, so when the two met in the US to talk about Baywatch, it was a big moment for Greg. It's just a shame he had to put The Rock on 'ballwatch' during their chat because the shorts he was wearing to meet his icon were so, so short.

When Radio 1 spent a weekend in Hull for Big Weekend, we decided to prank some of our listeners - with a little help from A-list pop stars. The reaction from Izzy and Lily, when they picked up a phone call from Shawn Mendes, was one of the highlights of our weekend.

And, when it comes to all-out hilarity and non-stop nonsense, we've not laughed harder than when Scott Mills and Chris Stark stayed up for 24 hours telling jokes for Red Nose Day. Their sleepless night raised more than £275,000 for charity.
