Glastonbury 2017: Who to watch if you're a Radio 1 listener

Got plans this weekend? With an estimated 175,000 people headed to Glastonbury for the world's biggest festival, many people in the UK will be spending it in the Westcountry, surrounded by like-minded party-goers and A-list musicians.
But if you're still to decide who you want to watch at Glasto (even if you're watching at home) and listen to Radio 1, here's our handy guide to the stars from the Radio 1 playlist you can see at Worthy Farm.
Friday, Nothing But Thieves, Other Stage, 13:40

The rockers from Southend-on-Sea will hit the Other Stage on Friday afternoon. Head down to mosh out to the awesome former Hottest Record Amsterdam, which has been on heavy rotation on Radio 1
Friday, Royal Blood, Pyramid Stage, 17:45

The heavy rock duo Royal Blood, who hail from Brighton, have just released their second album, How Did We Get So Dark? Hit their set to find out just how much noise two guys can make (the answer is a LOT more than you might think.)

Royal Blood - Lights Out (Radio 1's Big Weekend 2017)
Performing live on the WIB Arena on Sunday
Friday, George Ezra, Other Stage, 19:05

He's back! The booming voiced singer has returned with brand new material in the form of uplifting new single Don't Matter Now. We reckon it will sound just perfect for a sing-a-long on the Other Stage on Friday evening.

George Ezra - Don't Matter Now
Annie Mac's Hottest Record In The World for Thursday 15th June 2017.
Friday, Lorde, Other Stage, 20:45

Much like, ooh, pretty much the rest of the entire world, we are totally OBSESSED with Lorde's long-awaited new album Melodrama. Head down to the Other Stage (or tune in at home) on Friday night when we're anticipating tears, laughter and wild levels of emotion. (And that's just from us.)
Friday, Major Lazer, Other Stage, 22:30

If you're ready to dance, be it in the crowd or on your sofa, you need to join Major Lazer (aka Diplo, Jillionaire, and Walshy Fire) on Friday night. Expect a genre bending mash up from the electronic group who fuse reggae, dancehall, house music and more.
Saturday, The Amazons, John Peel Stage, 14:10

The BBC Sound of 2017 nominees are our favourite new rockers - not least for their luscious, flowing locks. Seriously, what shampoo do they all use?
Check out their performance at the Radio 1 Big Weekend in Hull for a flavour of what they might bring to the Worthy Farm stage. WOW.

The Amazons - Junk Food Forever (Radio 1's Big Weekend 2017)
Performing live on the WIB Arena on Saturday
Saturday, The Big Moon, William's Green, 15:00

Bringing some grungy pop sounds from London to Somerset, The Big Moon are one of the hottest bands on the Glastonbury line-up and the Radio 1 playlist.
Expect singalong anthems and vintage rock and pop sounds from this hugely talented four-piece.
Saturday, Katy Perry, Pyramid Stage, 18:00

Katy Perry headlined Radio 1's Big Weekend in May and if you watched any of her performance from Hull you'll already have a good idea of what to expect.
She will be bringing nearly ten years of perfect pop to Worthy Farm and her A-list star status is guaranteed to draw a huge crowd.

Katy Perry - Part Of Me (Radio 1's Big Weekend 2017)
Performing live on the Main Stage on Saturday
Saturday, Foo Fighters, Pyramid Stage, 21:45

Foo Fighters' headline slot on the Saturday night will be a special show for the US rockers, having been forced to cancel their headline performance in 2015.
Dave Grohl broke his leg a few weeks before the band were due to perform at Glastonbury, with Florence + The Machine stepping in at the last minute to full the slot.
The band are back on the Radio 1 playlist with their huge new tune Run and it will sound epic after sundown among the Foo's classic hits.
Sunday, Haim, Other Stage, 17:35

Come for the bass-face, stay for hit after hit after hit.
Este's bassface is infamous at festivals, but the Haim live show has so much more to offer than that. New single, I Want You Back, will offer one of the dreamiest, most uplifting moments of Glastonbury 2017.
Sunday, Sundara Karma, John Peel Stage, 11:50

Sundara Karma are the perfect Glasto band and we're actually starting to wonder if the Eavis's grew them in a lab.
With dreamy summer vibes, ace choruses and flawless melodies, expect to see these lads appear on many more Glastonbury line-ups in years to come.
Sunday, London Grammar, John Peel Stage, 20:30

Potentially the best scheduling of the weekend, there's no better band to see on a Sunday night, after three days of partying, than London Grammar.
Their chilled out sounds will make for the perfect comedown and a blissful farewell to one of the biggest weekends of the summer.
And you can always crank the party spirit back up again as soon as LG have finished their set.
Listen to the best bits from Glastonbury on Radio 1 all weekend from Friday 23 June 2017
