5 single celebrities who should think about dating a farmer

BBC 2 is launching a new show about dating farmers and we're already obsessed before it's even started.

In fact, Nick Grimshaw is already so into Love In The Country (presented by Radio 2's Sara Cox) that he's even considered signing up to find a weekend boyfriend who lives on a farm.

But he's not the only celebrity who might benefit from finding love in the fields. Here are 5 celebrities we think should consider looking for love in the countryside.

Nick Grimshaw is already obsessed with Love In The Country

Will BBC 2's new show be a rural alternative to Love Island?

Jesy Nelson

Jesy Nelson from Little Mix has had a tough old time of things in the romance department of late. She split from fiancé Jake Roche in late 2016.

"When you break up with someone, it's awful. Is it not one of the worst pains? It's horrendous," she told US radio station Z100 in January 2017.

She briefly dated The Only Way Is Essex star Chris Clark, but when they split he was accused of using Jesy for publicity by fans on Twitter.

She needs to stay away from minor celebs and perhaps a more rural romance is what she needs to heal her heart and find true love.

Olly Murs

Olly Murs broke up with girlfriend of three years, Francesca Thomas, in 2015 and admitted he was still heartbroken over the split in April 2017.

He also told the Metro that he had no interest in dating another popstar, hinting that he was looking for someone a little more down to earth.

"I’ve never really wanted to date anyone in the industry – it’s not really my thing," he told the newspaper.

And things don't get much more down to earth than looking for love in rural Britain.

Calvin Harris

Calvin Harris has dated Rita Ora and Taylor Swift, but neither relationship ended well.

Rita Ora was banned from releasing the music they recorded together until March 2017 and has only recently discussed his break-up with Taylor and his online reaction at the time.

"It's very difficult when something I consider so personal plays out very publicly," he says in a new interview with GQ magazine.

"The aftermath of the relationship was way more heavily publicised than the relationship itself."

Admittedly, he may not appreciate having the cameras on him, but think of the privacy he could find in a remote farmer's cottage.

Lorde

Lorde's break-up with long term boyfriend James Lowe was such a difficult experience, she wrote her second album, Melodrama, all about it.

"It's a record about being alone," said Lorde in an interview with The New York Times.

"The good parts and the bad parts.

"After your heart is broken, music enters you on a new level."

She's not your typical popstar and we can't imagine her hooking up with Shawn Mendes or Charlie Puth anytime soon, so a rugged farmer BF would be the perfect choice for this down-to-earth pop queen.

Harry Styles

Harry Styles has it all - almost. Following his success with One Direction he has successfully established himself as one of the hottest solo stars on the planet with his debut, self-titled album.

But what's missing? Love, that's what.

He has previously enjoyed high-profile relationships with the likes of Caroline Flack, Taylor Swift and Kendall Jenner. He more recently dated food blogger Tess Ward - but according to tabloid sources, that may be over already.

Perhaps dating big name stars from the media isn't going to work for Harry.

Any of these celebrities can apply to take part in Love In The Countryside - and so can you.
