Amazing moments from the social media of the stars in 2017 (so far)

It has been a wonderful week on social media, if your feed is full of celebrities that is.
Not only has Lorde been outed as the woman behind an Instagram account dedicated to onion rings, but Nicki Minaj has sparked a social media phenomenon and Bow Wow has reportedly paid loads of people to pretend to be his fans.
Yes wonderful but also really really weird. Here are the highlights of these and more recent standout moments from the social media activity of your favourite stars.
Lorde's secret onion ring Instagram account

Lorde confesses to a secret double life
She has been reviewing onion rings on social media.
The rumours are true. Lorde has been running a secret Instagram account where she reviewed onion rings she ate as she travelled the world promoting her new album Melodrama.
Lorde was busted by a New Zealand website, which pieced together the clues to out the Green Light star as the mysterious fan of battered vegetables.
Now she's come clean about her greasy obsession.
"I naively didn't realise that it would be a thing that I was going to different places and trying the onion rings at each of those places," she told Jimmy Fallon in an interview on US TV.
"It was a funny thing with my friends on tour."
Sadly, the account was quickly deleted and it seems that, for now at least, Lorde's adventures in batter are over.
If the onion rings are over, she can always go back to Easter chocolate
The Nicki Minaj challenge

ATTENTION.
The Nicki Minaj challenge is the sassiest, swishiest craze to hit the internet in 2017.
After Nicki Minaj posted a bizarre (and hilarious) video on social media talking to followers as she boarded a private jet from London to Prague, fans were quick to follow in the footsteps of the rap superstar.
Except their day to day lives are a little less glamourous.
#TheNickiMinajChallenge shows people go about their everyday business in Nicki Minaj style - emptying the bins, collecting food stamps and falling in a swimming pool. You can watch some of the best on Nicki's Instagram page.
Nicki Minaj literally giving her money away
And while we're speaking about Nicki Minaj, it's v.important to remember that she's not just responsible for social media hilarity - she's here to do good as well.
In early May 2017, Nicki began giving away money to fans on Twitter who were struggling to pay their school fees. She paid for books, tuition fees and outstanding student loans in an unprompted social media session that was sparked by a single message from a struggling follower.
She has suggested she will repeat the process later this year, so get those receipts ready.
Bow Wow's dubious celebrity lifestyle
Rapper Bow Wow (his last UK hit was in 2005, so it's OK if you don't remember him) has become our favourite internet faker of 2017.
His new fondness for mild trolling began in early May when Bow Wow posted a photo online of the private jet he was taking a flight on.
Except, a passenger on another flight took a photo of Bow Wow travelling in economy AND the photo he had shared was revealed to be a photo from a chauffeur service's Instagram account.
Now, and perhaps more incredibly, Bow Wow has been accused of paying people to chase him down the street, pretending to be fans.
We're very much into this. Bow Wow, please continue.
A social media outburst involving Katy Perry
Katy Perry is one half of the greatest feud in modern music but she did not clash with Taylor Swift this year, no sir.
But, one of Taylor's BFFs did come for Katy on Twitter when the star released her track Swish Swish earlier this year.
Ruby Rose, who is probably best known for her role in Netflix drama Orange Is The New Black, hit out at Katy, seemingly assuming the song was about Taylor.
"'Purposeful poop' to 'bomb a petit' to a sloppy mess of writing over the top of Funkagenda..stop trying to make ‘Wit..I mean 'fetch' happen ..," Ruby wrote on Twitter, hitting out at Katy Perry's 2017 singles and album.
"I just think with everything going on in the world to go from rebranding as political activist only to ditch it and go low.. is.. a bummer."
Katy later said the Swish Swish was not about any one person in particular and Ruby said that "being mean doesn't suit me".

Calvin Harris' lucky parrot
Calvin Harris' new album, Funk Wav Bounces Vol. 1, is the ultimate pop star party and the only person, other than Calvin, who appears to have heard the record, is a macaw.
The lucky bird was seen on Calvin's social media enjoying songs from the album which includes (but is not limited to) Frank Ocean,Pharrell,Katy Perry,John Legend,Migos,Ariana Grande, Nicki Minaj and Snoop Dogg.
We've never been jealous of a parrot before but hey, the album's out on 30 June, so he won't be able to hold it over us for too much longer.

Special mention: The Fifth Harmony meltdown
Yes, Fifth Harmony parted ways with Camila Cabello in December 2016, but it all happened so close to Christmas that a lot of people were too busy hanging tinsel to pay all that much attention.
5H are back with new single Down and Camila's doing the business with her tune Crying In The Club, but in late December tea was spilled on Twitter as things got ugly between the two camps.
"We have spent the past year and a half trying to communicate to her and her team all of the reasons why we felt Fifth Harmony deserved one more album of her time," wrote Ally, Dinah, Lauren and Dinah.
"We called for group meetings which she refused, we asked LA Reid and the label to step in and try to set meetings, which again. She refused.
"We even went as far as group counselling which she did not show up to."
But everyone wishes each other the very best, of course.
