This 360 panorama is taken near Hey Green at the edge of Marsden Moor. If you look carefully you can see Close Gate Bridge. This packhorse bridge is on an early route across the Pennines towards Rochdale.
Marsden Moor has 5,685 acres of moorland. The land harbours a vast diversity of birds, insects, plants and mammals. It is home to the golden plover, curlew, grouse and the twite. The Moor has valleys, reservoirs, peaks and crags as well as archaeological remains dating from pre-Roman times to canals and railways. The Moor was acquired by The National Trust in 1955 |
