| | | Tell me more! | This panoramic view is the Council Chamber at Bradford City Hall.
City Hall, with its distinctive clock tower based on the Palazzo Vecchio in Florence, brings a bit of Italy to the centre of Bradford.
The large Grade I listed building, designed by local architects Lockwood and Mawson, opened as Bradford Town Hall in 1873.
The building's interior splendour can be seen in these images. Watch out for Heritage Weekend usually held in September. You can get to see parts of the building which may usually be closed to the public, including the rooms shown here.
| Getting there... | Bradford City Hall is too big to be missed. It is just a few minutes walk from Bradford Interchange.
| The Lowdown... | If you go to Bradford take some time to look at the outside of City Hall. Not only could you think you were in Florence but take a look at the statues lining the exterior on the Centenary Square side. Here you can see English monarchs in the order in which they appeared in history including, unusually, Oliver Cromwell.
