The Shay is the home of the Halifax rugby league team and Halifax Town. The view shows work at the stadium to improve facilities and to increase the capacity from 7,000 to 14,000.
The site was previously a council rubbish tip. The record attendance at the stadium is 36,885 for Halifax Town versus Tottenham Hotspur in 1953.

The Shay stadium was shared by the rugby team and football team for the first time in 1998, before the move, their home was Thrum Hall for 112 years.
