One of im family member, Chioma Okafor announce am for im Instagram account on Monday, 6 November.

She post say “As at 1pm today, Daddy don go through seven successful surgeries but to keep am alive and increase im chances of recovery, dem gatz amputate one of im legs.”

Chioma add say di development dey hard on di family but dem don accept dia papa new reality to keep am alive.

Sani Idris wey act for ‘Wasila’ one of di legendary Kannywood movies for di year 2001 tell BBC News Pidgin say e dey advise Mr Ibu to dey positive about wetin happun to am.

“Wen I hear im tori e just remind me of my own case five years ago sake of say na di same tin happun to us.

“For my own case I bin no know say i get diabetes until my leg start give me problems and by di time I reach hospital di situation don worse.”

Moda wey dey use prosthetic leg at di moment recall di kain love e receive from pipo when dem announce say dem go amputate im leg.

“E get many pipo and organisations wey show me love wella and I no go forget dem even former Zamfara govnor Bello Matawalle call to ask me how much be di prosthetic leg I go like use and I tell am and e buy," Moda tok.

Moda say wetin happun to Mr Ibu no suppose mean di end of im acting career.

“As I dey so notin wey I no fit do, if acting job come I dey always ready and I also dey kontinu my work as assistant director for Kaduna Arts Council.

“So na opportunity for Mr Ibu to start a new chapter wey go give am beautiful memories as I dey experience so.

“My last advise na for am to take doctors advise seriously to avoid all di tins dem tell am make e no chop or drink.”

Mr Ibu actor for sometimes now don dey struggle wit im health but di nature of im sickness no dey clear.
