Why Hisbah arrest 64 ‘underage’ pipo for Kano hotel

Islamic police for Kano state north west Nigeria say dem arrest 64 young boys and girl wey go one hotel, carry dem go sharia court.

Hisbah say dem arrest di “underaged” boys and girls on Monday 30 October, carry dem go court on Tuesday morning of 31 October.

Lawal Fagge, di public relations officer of di Kano Islamic police, Hisbah, tell BBC Pidgin say dem arrest di young pipo wey im say be “underaged” afta dem get call from di manager of di hotel and di area pipo.

E tok dis one afta one video begin trend for social media wey show wia some Hisbah officials bin dey push, grab, carry some men and women put dem inside one white pick up van.

Fagge say di young pipo gada for di hotel premises dey smoke shisha, drink hard drug and make noise disturb pipo for di hotel and pipo wey dey live for di area.

E add say some of dem bin dey do sexual act wen dem arrest dem.

Di underaged pipo according to di Hisbah official bin no suppose comot from dia house without dia parents permission, as dis dey unislamic.

“Based on di Islamic religion, e no dey permitted for young pipo to meet up like dat, without di consent of dia parents or any guides.”

One aspect of di video wey worry na how di Islamic police bin dey torch torch di girls as dem dey carry dem by force enta motor.
