Tell us how the label started and its early years...
Personal Theatre was a natural progression for me. Since 1997 I'd been running a label called Pacifica Recordings, but that became pigeon holed with one particular style, progressive house & by May 2002 my studio & label partner had left & I was tired of writing / releasing that style of music.

I wanted a label where I could be more diverse. not necessarily dance music, album acts.

What was the first major signing?
I was in the studio with Matt Buggins & he played me a track he'd produced for some friends, Pablo & Lawrie aka Mango Trasher.

They were the first act I'd ever signed & they were one of the reasons I started the label.

Who's currently on your label now?
Mango Trasher, Fex, Acid Rockers, George Thompson. We are currently negotiating with a couple of new acts, one of whom has enormous potential.

Who runs the label?
Myself & my partner, Matt Buggins (Acid Rockers)
