First Track Bought: 'Somewhere in Time' by 'Iron Maiden' is the earliest that I can remember. Although it's an album I can't actually remember the first single I bought.
You've been DJ'ing for many years - what keeps you going? The money and the women… only joking. I suppose it is a passion for quality house music and trying to make a bigger name for myself. The dance scene has really evolved since the boom in the 80's/early 90's - how do you see the next ten years? House music is amazing at the moment but I cant even think about what it might be like in ten years time. As long as there is kids still wanting to go out clubbing there will be some sort of scene and I hope I am a part of it.
What do you see as the essence of your success? Again, a passion for the music that I am playing out. I am always trying to search out those 'special' records. And an ever growing knowledge of music as well. I think that a good knowledge of the music you play helps a lot.
Where have you travelled to DJ? Really really far away places such as Workington, Kendal, Manchester, Preston, oh, and Lanzarote too.
What clubs would you like to play and why? I would like to have played a B2B set with Larry Levan (R.I.P.) at the Paradise Garage in New York. The atmosphere must have been electric. Would be such an experience. Also, would like to play a set in the Amphitheatre at Feel in Preston. I was very privileged to play the closing party on the 24 May in the back room warming up for Da Mentalistz and that has just wetted my appetite for more. The atmosphere in there is like nowhere else. 6.
Who do you most admire in music today? Definitely the number 1 house DJ in the world Mark Farina. Also, Krafty Kuts, DJ Sneak, Derrick Carter. And the Sugarbabes are doing it for me at the moment too. This list could go on forever though…
Who is your music legend? Hmmm, this is a hard one. Erm, Can I choose a couple? Larry Levan, Mark Farina, Krafty Kuts. Sorry, I can't just choose one. I feel like I am being unfair on the others!
Ibiza - dead and buried, or ready to fight another day? As long as there is a dance scene I think that Ibiza will still be around. The island gets slated a lot by people saying it is too commercial etc but I think it is still good with some of the best parties in the world going off every week through the summer. Oh, and Pacha!
Anyone who has any doubts about the place just needs top go there for the evening and they will soon change their minds.
Tip for the top - what's shaking and breaking? A new midweek monthly club night in Manchester on a Thursday night called CasaMusica. Playing the very best that house music has to offer.
Only two night's young and can boast two UK debuts from the worlds best house DJ's already.
Who to watch - what DJs, labels and artists are heading for the top? Even though he has been around for ages and, in my opinion is the worlds number 1 DJ, I just think Mark Farina is going to get bigger and bigger. He constantly flys around the world playing endless dates and most people have not got a clue who he is!
James Zabiela, he is just amazing. He is Sasha's favourite warm up DJ and he mixes and scratches Breaks and Prog effortlessly.
It wont be that long until he acquires himself a godlike status like Sasha's.
There is a new label in Manchester called 'Flat and Round' that seems to be doing things properly as far as house music goes.
Chris Lum has done the first release on the label and Demarkus Lewis is lined up for the next, which I personally cannot wait for.
