| | Blackpool was crowned the new dance capital with the opening of the UK's biggest and lushest club. Appropriately, it was the King of Clubs Peter Stringfellow who officially christened The Syndicate by playing Dannii Minogue's Put The Needle On It. |

DJ Fubar then took control with help from Damian Saint and whipped over 5000 clubbers into dance ecstacy with a selection of classic old skool tunes and dance anthems. From his own version of The Love Parade, he belted out The Source's You Got The Love to JX's Son of a Gun - and chose Fatboy Slim's Star 69 as the finale.
Blackburn Rovers footballer David Dunn's verdict: "It's really cool - I'll definitely come again." |
The club was full at 11.00pm but clubbers that made it through the doors were not let down by the hype. Entering the dance arena was like walking into a dance paradise. No expense has been spared in the £4m refurb of the old ABC cinema building.
As well as the 40ft revolving dance floor and disco balls galore the dance arena boosts the most advanced lighting and sound system in the world: See also: Virtual Tour
Highlight of the night was Sandra Norwind, who master-minded the club, shaking her stuff with son Mark and daughter Michelle in the DJ box to Star 69.
