Writing about the past – WJECWriting or talking about others

If you want to talk about other people in the past, you must change the verb endings, depending on who you’re talking about.

You've already looked at these verb endings:

• -ais i – I (did something in the past)
• -odd o/e – He (did something in the past)
• -odd hi – She (did something in the past)

What are the endings if you want to say or write that we did something in the past?

Therefore, to say that we did something in the past tense, add -on to the stem of the verb.

Just remember that when pronouncing the n at the end of -on runs into the n at the beginning of ni:

• Gwelon ni'r rhaglen ar y teledu.
• Clywon ni'r band yn canu.
