Writing about your area

In this section, you are going to give information about your area. So, first things first:

Ble wyt ti'n byw? – Where do you live?

  • Dw i'n byw ym Mangor. – I live in Bangor.
  • Dw i'n byw yng Nghaerdydd. – I live in Cardiff.
  • Dw i'n byw ym Mhwllheli. – I live in Pwllheli.

You will notice that the first letter of the place names – Bangor, Caerdydd and Pwllheli – has changed after yn.

Look at Mutations: soft, nasal, aspirate for more information about the nasal mutation.

So, how would you answer the question: Ble wyt ti'n byw?
