When you learn to speak and write a new language you must be able to provide information. From describing yourself to discussing special occasions, it's useful to discuss the past and the future.

Discussing society and culture

Are you a member of a club or society in your local area? If you are, you could say:

Dw i'n aelod o ____. – I am a member of _____.

Dw i'n aelod o’r Urdd. – I’m a member of the Urdd.

Dw i'n aelod o grŵp gweddi. – I’m a member of a prayer group.

Dw i'n aelod o'r gymdeithas ddrama. – I’m a member of the drama society.

Talk about the kind of society in which you live and mention any clubs or societies you belong to.

The Urdd movement

The Urdd movement plays an important part in Welsh culture, especially among young people. The Urdd is a movement for young people and it welcomes Welsh speakers and Welsh learners.

Young people who are Urdd members have an opportunity to take part in a variety of activities, eg:
