RUBY: Valencia is Spain's third largest city. It's on the east coast of the country, on the Mediterranean. So it's really warm most of the year.
There are lots of fantastic old buildings, but groovy modern ones too.
There are huge museums and theatres beautiful boulevards and parks and lots of people.
My name is Ruby and I moved to Valencia two years ago.
I've got lots of friends here who've helped me learn to speak Spanish.
I live in the countryside.
ALL: ¡Vivimos en Valencia!

Teacher Notes
- This clip could be used to develop intercultural understanding about life in Spain.
- Pupils could be given flashcards with phrases such as 'In the city, it is very noisy' in Spanish on one side and English on the other. Depending on ability, they could put either the Spanish or English phrases in order as they watch the clip.
- This could lead to a discussion about similarities and differences between cities and the countryside in the UK. Pupils could then write a description of a city in their local area.
- As this clip presents lots of useful adjectives to describe places, pupils could identify opposites such as ancho/estrecho, ruidoso/tranquilo, and use them in their own sentences.
