Wales win semi-pro crown
Wales clinched the Four Nations semi-professional football crown with a superb 5-2 win over the Republic of Ireland at Boston.

The victory came courtesy of a hat-trick from Llanelli's Mark Dickenson and a brace from Caersws' Graham Evans.

The championship showdown against the Irish followed a 2-1 win over the Scots and a 1-1 draw against the English earlier in the week.

Manager Tommi Morgan praised his players for their magnificent effort.

"It's been a fantastic week for the side," he said.

"We started on Tuesday and were bitterly disappointed not to have got the three points against England after they got a very late equaliser.

"On Thursday, our performance wasn't the best but we dug out a result against Scotland.

"In the first half against the Irish, I thought they looked a lot sharper us and were often first to the ball.

"But we got a goal at the right time just before half-time. We had a few words at half-time and in the second half I thought we put on a five star performance.

"Some of the players were absolutely superb and the goals we scored were from the top drawer.

"All credit to the players - they have been absolutely superb all week."
