| Thursday, 2 May, 2002, 09:29 GMT 10:29 UK Hereford trio get Welsh call Hereford will provide three players for the Wales semi-professional squad to take part in the Home Internationals later this month. Seven of Wales' 19-man squad, led by Carmarthen Town manager Tommi Morgan, play their football in the Nationwide Conference. Hereford trio of experienced defender Tony James, highly-rated midfielder Paul Parry and striker Gavin Williams are all included. League of Wales champions Barry Town and ex-Football League club Newport County also have three players selected in the squad. "It's certainly an innovative concept and hopefully a successful one. We will be doing our level best and we would love to win it," said John Deakin, secretary of the League of Wales. "It will be interesting to gauge how our semi-professional players compete and you never know how they will progress. "We have got one or two young players in there like Mark Dickeson and Graham Evans who score a lot of goals." The squad also includes Marc Lloyd-Williams of Bangor, the League of Wales' leading scorer, who previously played at Halifax and York City, and former international goalkeeper Tony Roberts.
