Wigan moved to the top of Division Two with victory against Blackpool courtesy of goals from Tony Dinning and Michael Flynn.

Midfielder Dinning scored the visitors' opener after 12 minutes when he stole in to score with a left-foot drive.

The visitors were then made to defend as Blackpool played well and battled valiantly for an equaliser.

The home side had a goal from John Murphy disallowed before Flynn's late strike ended any hopes they had of snatching a point.

Blackpool keeper Phil Barnes kicked an attempted clearance straight into Flynn who ran onto the rebound to slot into an empty net.
