| Saturday, 9 November, 2002, 18:28 GMT Barnsley 3-2 Cardiff Barnsley's win against promotion-chasing Cardiff courtesy of a Chris Morgan double gave Glyn Hodges his first win as the club's caretaker boss. Morgan bravely headed home a second-half winner to round off a five-goal thriller. Morgan had initially put the Tykes ahead in the first period, heading in Mitch Ward's free-kick. But Cardiff drew level within seconds as Robert Earnshaw nipped in behind the home defence to slide the ball under keeper Andy Marriott. Barnsley were back in front when Rory Fallon sent a glancing header in to the far corner. Earnshaw again capitalised on poor defending just before half-time to level, but midway through the second half, Barnsley added a decisive third. Ward was again the provider for Morgan to turn the ball in from close range. Barnsley: Marriott, Mulligan, Austin, Morgan, Gibbs, Betsy, Ward, Lumsdon, Neil, Dyer, Fallon.
