| Saturday, 27 April, 2002, 16:48 GMT 17:48 UK Yeovil 2-0 Dover Yeovil secured a third-placed finish in the Nationwide Conference with a routine 2-0 win over already relegated Dover. The Huish Park side started the stronger and Carl Alford gave them the lead in the 19th minute. Michael McIndoe, tormenting the Dover defence down the left flank, swung in a corner and the former Rushden striker rose unapposed to head home from close range. Adam Stansfield made it two on the stroke of half-time when he ran onto a Lee Johnson through-ball and calmly slotted the ball past Phil Smith in the Dover goal. Lilywhites defender Lee Shearer threw away any chance of a revival by controversially getting himself sent-off for foul and abusive language in stoppage time. Yeovil: Weale, Lockwood, Skiverton, Pluck, Tonkin, Lindegaard, Way, Johnson, McIndoe, Alford, Stansfield. Subs: White, Brassart, Grant, Giles, Sheffield. Dover: Smith, Carruthers, Leberl, Shearer, Norman, James, Seabury, Kelly, Le Bihan, Ramsay, Tyne. Subs: Scott, Day, Simon Glover, Hyde. Referee: A Marriner (Coventry). |
