Doncaster failed to secure third place in the Nationwide Conference after they slumped to a 2-1 defeat at Morecambe in their final match of the season.

Rovers' hopes of staying above Yeovil in the table suffered an early blow when David Perkins' inswinging corner from the right was headed home by Stuart Drummond.

The visitors drew level in the 34th minute through Tristram Whitman's header.

But Ian Arnold's goal three minutes after the break ensured Morecambe ended the season with a win.

The result allowed Yeovil to leapfrog Doncaster and snatch third place.
