| Tuesday, 12 November, 2002, 22:39 GMT Macclesfield 1-2 Tranmere Veteran striker Stuart Barlow celebrated his return to the Tranmere side with a golden goal winner against Macclesfield in the LDV Vans Trophy. The former Everton, Wigan and Oldham striker scored his third goal of the season in the 64th minute to set up extra-time. Macclesfield had taken the lead in the fourth minute when striker Matthew Tipton drilled home a shot into the bottom corner. Macclesfield had chances to win the game in extra-time but it was Barlow who reacted first when a Gary Jones shot was parried by Steve Wilson to fire the winner into the roof of the net.
