| Tuesday, 12 November, 2002, 22:59 GMT Carlisle 1-0 Stockport Will McDonagh's golden goal took Carlisle through to the next round of the LDV Vans Trophy at the expense of Stockport. McDonagh lashed home a 35-yard shot that took a deflection off Jim Goodwin before flashing past goalkeeper Alan Blayney. Carlisle had several chances throughout the game and on 26 minutes Brendan McGill should have scored. Stockport's best chance of the game came on 47 minutes when Luke Beckett raced through but his shot went inches wide of the post. John Hardiker came to Stockport's rescue on 54 minutes when he cleared Ryan Baldacchino's shot off the line.
