Srebotnik fills the final position among the women's seeds following the withdrawal of Venus Williams.
The 22-year-old Slovenian has two tour titles to her name, the last of which came in Acapulco in early 2002.
She has yet to score any victories over the world's very best players, apart from a three-set win over Kim Clijsters in Los Angeles last year which gave a hint of her potential on hard courts.
Srebotnik struggled in the early part of the summer, with two wins in two months culminating in a second-round defeat to Venus Williams at Wimbledon.
But she recovered two weeks later to post her best result of the year, reaching the final in Palermo where she lost to Dinara Safina.
And a run to the quarter-finals in Toronto in early August was timed perfectly to see her move up the rankings.
Williams' withdrawal has given her a huge boost as she now faces a qualifier in round one, rather than Mary Pierce, and there is no reason she should not make a quarter-final with Jennifer Capriati.
