Russian number one Myskina has reached the world's top 10 after some impressive performances this year.

She won two of her four career titles this season and made the quarter-finals of a Grand Slam for the first time at the Australian Open.

Her third career title came in Doha in February where she defeated compatriot Elena Likhovtseva in the first ever all-Russian final and victory in Sarasota sealed her place in the top 10.

In July, she made it to the fourth round of Wimbledon for the first time in her career - making it a record five Russians to reach that stage.

With a tidy game, and a neat touch at the net, Myskina should thrive on the hard courts at Flushing Meadows and she will be keen to surpass the third round for the first time.
