Guernsey's Heather Watson has continued her good form on court with a straight-sets win to make it into the last 16 of the Eddie Herr Invitational in Florida.

The 16-year-old beat Russia's Nadezda Guskova 6-4 6-4 on Wednesday.

But her good form, which saw her break into the top 50 juniors in the world earlier this week, will be tested to the limit on Thursday.

She faces France's Kristina Mladenovic, who is the number two seed and is number 10 in the world junior rankings.

The event is a grade one listed ITF junior tournament, the same as the Yucatan World Cup in Mexico, which Watson won last week.

The win saw her rise 50 places in the world junior rankings to 34.

Junior Wimbledon champion Laura Robson, who was the top seed in Florida, was knocked out in the second round 7-5 3-6 6-1 by America's Nicole Bartnik.
