Heather Watson helped the British team to the final in San Luis Potosi

Great Britain's girls finished second in the Junior Fed Cup in Mexico, losing to the United States in Sunday's final.

The US beat Britain 2-0 as Christina McHale beat Heather Watson 6-2 6-2 and Kristie Ahn saw off Tara Moore 6-7 6-1 7-5, saving a match point on the way.

"Proud is a really good word to sum up not only what these girls have achieved but what GB junior girls have achieved in 2008," said captain Iain Bates.

Greg Rusedski captained GB's Junior Davis Cup team to 10th place.

In July, Robson joined forces with Jessica Ren and Joanna Henderson in a 14-and-under team which finished runner-up to the USA in Prostejov.
