Jersey will not take their eyes off the ball when the face Basingstoke |
Jersey rugby club travel to Basingstoke this Saturday confident they can continue their great run of form. Basingstoke are regular opponents in the County Cup and inflicted a massive 74-10 loss in the final back in 2003. Head coach Ben Harvey told BBC Jersey that the players are aiming to make amends for the loss. "Basingstoke will be confident at home, they smashed us in a final of the County Cup a few years ago but the boys are looking to right that wrong." | We've worked really hard to breed this winning culture in the club Jersey Head Coach Ben Harvey |
Harvey has a full squad to pick from with no injuries, something he is amazed by. "The boys are playing really well at the moment and the whole squad is fit which is incredible." Since losing the first match of the season, the Island side is undefeated and averaging about 50 points a game while only conceding ten. Harvey believes the great form comes down to 18 months of hard work. "We've worked really hard to breed this winning culture in the club; complacency will be our only downfall, but if we keep concentrating on what we need to do then we should be in a promotion position at the end of the season."
