Jersey bounced back from last weekend's defeat by Bracknell with a convincing 43-13 victory at North Walsham.

The island side claimed five points from the seven-try win which moved them from 11th to sixth in National Three London and South East.

Head coach Ben Harvey was pleased with his squad's efforts.

He said: "We put the opposition under a lot of pressure and controlled the game extremely well. It was a much improved performance from last week."

Jersey controlled the play for long periods, with Kern Yates opening the scoring with a try in the opening five minutes.

Further scores from captain Talite Vaioleti, Ed Dawson (two) and Nick Trower gave Jersey a 32-6 half-time lead.

A further Vaioleti try and another from Donovan Saunders ensured they ultimately ran out easy 30-point winners.

Harvey told BBC Jersey that the team did not panic after last weekend's 24-19 defeat by Bracknell.

"There was no real change of plan from last week, we just wanted to make sure we played the game in the right areas of the pitch," he said.

Jersey play their first home game of the season against Sutton and Epsom next weekend.
