Guildford Flames made up for their poor start to the English Premier League with two wins. The Surrey side beat Slough Jets 4-3 away and Swindon Wildcats 4-2 at home, head coach Paul Dixon admitted afterwards he was relieved. "As we said last week there is no need for panic but you don't want to get too far in before you collect some points if for no other reason than confidence. "In that respect the weekend was a huge relief," Dixon said. "Slough is a difficult place to play at the best of times. "When you throw in a half dozen injuries during the game which shortens the bench and then add some ill timed penalties which compounds the problem, I thought we did well to keep our composure and hang on long enough to give ourselves an opportunity to get the win. "Sunday we dominated for much of the game and should have had a lead from a much earlier stage, but we got the break when we needed it and did not relinquish control from that point."
