Guildford Flames lost both their matches on the opening weekend of the English Premier League. The Flames lost 3-2 at Milton Keynes on Saturday and then fell to the same scoreline at home to Basingstoke Bison 23 hours later. Head coach Paul Dixon said: "When you draw it up on the chalk board you certainly don't aim for zero points from your first two games. "We were hoping for better, but the season is a marathon, not a sprint." "It is rather early to get too excited about results in either direction. It is better at this point to be a little less emotional and a bit more analytical. "We will take this to training this week and see how we go about making things right on Saturday in Slough before back at home on Sunday against Swindon."
