Gaynor Thomas (above) and Carole Allan fell at the final hurdle

Jersey pair Gaynor Thomas and Carole Allan have been beaten in the final of the British Isles Indoor Bowls Championships.

Thomas and Allan went down 21-8 to England's Karen and Cindy Edmondson in the final in Belfast on Thursday.

The pair were the last Jersey bowlers left in the competition after Jamie MacDonald was beaten in the singles.

Guernsey's Alison Merrien was the only Channel Island winner, taking her third consecutive singles title.
