Jersey and Guernsey are second and third respectively after the first two days of the European Team Bowls Championships in Cyprus. Scotland lead the way on 86 points, eight ahead of Jersey who are two points ahead of their big rivals. Guernsey's Matt Le Ber is the event's leading bowler, winning four and drawing the fifth of his five matches. Team-mate Lucy Beere is just behind him while Jersey's Chris Grimes, representing Europe, is fifth. The highest-ranked Jersey player representing the island is Eileen Vowden in 13th place. Guernsey's World Indoor Championships runner-up Alison Merrien has had a mixed tournament, winning two mixed pairs games with partner Garry Collins. But after beating Israel's Tami Kamzel in the singles she lost her second singles game to former England international and now Cypriot resident Linda Ryan.
